So, I saw this meme on Facebook and realized that it is currently my life. I’m putting out one book, editing another, writing the next and plotting a fourth. I’ve been told not to pile too much on my plate but… that’s easier said than done.
I feel like I have to put out more to be able to one day enjoy my life as a full-time writer. At this point taking my time and waiting between projects isn’t going to put me any closer to being able to quit my full-time job and shout from the rooftops that I am a full-time writer.
Any other writers out there going through the same thing? Let me know and maybe we can motivate each other. I’m going to go now and do some writing.
Hey 172 followers,
I’m back with another writing update. I haven’t done much in the last few days so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I am only on chapter eight in my journey to edit my upcoming book One Shot, Two Shots. With the way things are going it’s no surprise that I won’t be releasing this book when I originally planned. I really need to buckle down and get some serious work done. I have so many projects planned and procrastinating is just throwing me all of track.
With that said I think I’ll try to get some editing done today.
Dated: August 3, 2018
So, I have decided that I’ve put way too much time between my projects. Not that that’s a bad thing but I’ve sort of been in a bit of a slump while taking my sweet time to publish again. With that said, I decided to no longer wait.
Right now I am editing OSTS book one in the THD series. Writing the first book in The Vampire Hunter series and plotting the first book in my Thicker Than Water series.
I know. So many projects. Will I be able to juggle them all?
We’ll just have to wait and see.
If you want to continue showing your support for my journey as a writer you can head over to my Patreon account. There I will share sneak peeks from what I’m working on with my Patrons.
So quick writing update. I am busy trying to get my first book to perfection. It has been removed from Amazon and I am just trying to beef it up a bit and make some necessary changes. Changes that are needed for the second book in the series. I’m not entirely sure how this publishing thing works when you make changes to a book. Do I release a second edition or can I just rerelease considering I’m self-published?
I just don’t know.
I mean, I have sold some copies but not enough to make a living off of so not many people have read this story. How much harm could it do if I just fix this book and then rerelease?
I’m not really sure how people manage to put out multiple books a year. I’m just struggling to find the time to work on a book that’s already been released.
I miss not working. LOL. Granted, I don’t miss being broke but I miss having the free time. Yet, when I wasn’t working, I wasn’t really writing. I just haven’t had that spark that I began with when I sat down and initially wrote the first book in The Five Sisters series. That is a feeling I’m just not sure I will ever get back and I don’t know why.
So, I applaud anyone who is able to create a writing schedule and stick to it. I can never figure out to work a writing schedule into my already busy schedule. It’s pretty much, write when I can, which considering how much I love sleep is sometimes never.
Plus, I don’t really have anyone to report to except for myself, do you know what I mean? When you work for someone else and they schedule you, you have to meet those requirements, show up to work on time or there will be consequences. As a writer, a self-published writer, I have no one to report to. If I’m slacking off the consequence is that I prolong becoming a full-time write. Considering how long it actually takes to accomplish that, my mind has basically started making excuses for my slacker tendencies.
So, no writing schedule for me. At least not in the traditional sense. Instead I have decided to make a publishing schedule. There are so many projects that I want to get out and I feel like there isn’t enough time, so I made a schedule for when to post each and every one of my stories.
Each with a different draft and a different publishing format so that I can work on other projects in between.
My fingers are crossed that this will work out for me. Cross your fingers too.
Be sure to follow me for more updates.
Keep calm and journey on.
Hey Love Bugs,
I’m sorry that I was absent last week. As you can imagine I was a little bit in my feelings and needed some time away. But I’m back and I’ve got another tip for you.
If you are joining us for the first time, I share tips on how to help promote your book and get more sales and such. These are NOT my tips. These are just tips that I’ve found. I am always trying this tips out as well as sharing them with you, so we can share our journey together.
This week’s tip is to give a lecture on the core message of your story.
Now, I did not try this tip out in the last two weeks because, honestly there’s no message for me to give a lecture on. I’m not entirely sure how this tip works for fiction writers. It seems more like a tip for a non-fiction writer.
Although I have not done this tip myself, I’m still sharing it because I encourage you all to try it if it fits with the style of book you’ve written or are writing. I guess a option for us fiction writers would be to give a dramatic reading instead of a lecture. That could be fun.
Maybe post a video online.
Why didn’t I think of this before?
Well, that’s all I have for you beautiful people this week. Until next time… continue reading for all links that I would love for you all to check out and always Love, Peace & Chicken Grease.

See you next Wednesday.
Hey Love Bugs,
I find myself doing this a lot. Reevaluating. Sitting back and contemplating what I am doing. Not about writing. No, that is something I do not see myself stopping any time soon. I love it too much.
What I find myself rethinking is the projects I’m working on. I don’t know why I can’t seem to stop all of the different stories from playing out and why I keep wanting to stop the current project I am working on, but I do. But I haven’t.
Well, not fully.
I did start it back up again but would you believe that two new ideas popped into my head? Add that to the other thirty or so that I have and you can probably imagine my dilemma.
Thing is, as much as I want to stop this one and start up a new one, I made a promise to a lot of people that this book would be completed. I already broke one promise with a previous story and the public shame from that just will not go away. I cannot be shamed twice. LOL. So this book will be completed.
That is still up in the air, but it will be completed. Believe me.
Now I’ve got to go to the job that actually pays the bills. I post blogs every Wednesday so until next week, Love, Peace & Chicken Grease and my first book, The Five Sisters Power is still available for purchase. Pop on buy to purchase a copy if you haven’t already and don’t forget to leave a review, subscribe to this blog, like and comment.
If you have any questions or something you would like me to post about, comment.
