This was a really cute movie. Tim thinks he has the perfect life. It’s just him and his parents. They dote on him and he doesn’t have to share their love with anyone. That is until they mention a little brother. Tim has a wild imagination and he believes that his new brother arrives in a taxi, wearing a full suit and carrying a briefcase. His parents stop spending much time with him because the baby demands all of their attention and then Tim learns that he can talk and comes from a big corporation where he was sent on assignment to stop a new breed of puppies from hitting the market.
Tim is struggling with the idea of sharing his parents because he doesn’t think that they will be able to love them both. Boss baby is trying to stop this new puppy from coming out because this puppy will take all of the parents love from the baby. The two ideas parallel each other.
I liked the fact that I couldn’t tell if everything was actually going on or it if was just all a part of Tim’s very vivid imagination. Especially at the end where we learn that Tim is sharing this story with his daughter because she has just become a new big sister. His daughter asks if the story is real and he says it’s how he remembers it.
As much as Tim and the baby (Ted) despised each other, they quickly bond over their shared interest in stopping the puppy. Ted doesn’t want to be “fired” and made to be a real baby and Tim wants Ted to go back to his job so he can go back to being an only child.
The overall message of the movie is that there is enough love to go around for all. Tim and Ted want to stay together at the end of the assignment and of course they do, with Ted being a normal baby and not the boss.
Just a really cute movie and good for kids to see. It teaches them about sharing and love. I also think adults should watch this as well. With the way this world is going, everyone can learn about love and sharing, lol. Seriously.
